Yesterday we shared Sol's story — walking miles to a Super Bowl brunch rather than driving. Plenty of people asked why he couldn't just get in a car, so here's the answer.
It was Shabbos — the Jewish day of rest, from sundown Friday to nightfall Saturday. Driving is one of the things observant Jews set aside, so if you're headed somewhere, you walk.

That's why Sol walked. And walked back. 😅
Here’s why 👇🏾

30 years ago, Sol got invited to a Super Bowl brunch in Arizona. One problem — it was Shabbos, so driving was off the table.
So he walked. In the desert heat. Car after car pulled over to offer him a lift, and every single time he smiled and said no thanks.
By the time he reached the hotel he was drenched. The Commissioner couldn't believe he'd walked the whole way.
Sol's response? "The worst part is I gotta walk back." 😅
Thirty years later he still tells it like it happened yesterday — because some commitments are worth the walk.

Sol wore his yarmulka to the World Cup in Qatar. He didn’t expect anyone to notice.
The Emir did. And instead of a problem, it turned into an invitation into his private suite.
Wearing who you are proudly opens doors you don’t expect. 🇶🇦✡️
