To Our Valued Customers,
Chesterfield Irrigation understands the growing concern surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19) across our community and have been closely monitoring the situation. We want to assure you that the safety and well-being of our customers, employees and their families is our greatest concern during this uncertain time. Like many others, we are taking guidance from the CDC and will continue to take necessary measures to insure the safety of all.
Chesterfield Irrigation is currently scheduling all service calls, maintenance visits and installations as usual. During all service appointments we are working to limit physical contact as much as possible; this includes maintaining a 6 ft distance from person-to-person, no handshaking, no signing of work orders and no payments to be taken at the time of service (all invoices will be emailed and/or mailed). Gloves will also be worn by service technicians while inside servicing is being performed. In addition, to further limit physical contact, if you know how to turn on the water in your basement, please notify the service technician upon arrival and he will not enter your home.
We are also working closely with our employees to ensure that anyone who is not feeling well understands that we support them staying home. In the event this occurs, a number of appointments will be rescheduled. We ask that if you or any person within your household is sick, you contact our office to reschedule your appointment.
While this situation continues to change on a daily, or even hourly basis, we are making changes to our routine as required. Please be patient and let's work together to limit the spread of the disease.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office at (636) 537-9795.
Thank you,
Sheri Metcalf
FREEZE WARNING - DEPRESSURIZING INSTRUCTIONS
According to the forecast, beginning around 10pm tonight temperatures are expected to begin to drop ultimately hitting a low of around 20° by tomorrow morning. If your system has not been winterized we strongly suggest following these simple instructions to depressurize your irrigation backflow and assist in protecting your device from freeze damage prior to this evening.
Step #1: Turn the water off to the irrigation system
Step #2: At the controller, run a test cycle or manually turn on one zone to release the pressure – you only need to run one zone for 1-2 minutes
*Note – the sprinkler heads will not come up and you will not see water spraying out of the sprinkler heads due to the water being off
Step #3: Turn controller off
Step #4: Cover/wrap your backflow device and the exposed piping with a blanket, large towels, or wrap with insulation (insulation would be best)
