Growing up, I was taught that being a good Christian meant being at church every Sunday, Sunday night, and Wednesday night. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that while church is important, God isn’t confined to a building.

Sometimes our Sundays look like this—outside, surrounded by His creation, worship music playing, and hearts full of gratitude. Watching my kids explore the beauty He created reminds me that His presence can be found anywhere.

This isn’t about replacing church. It’s about remembering that worship can happen any day, any time, and any place. ❤️🌿🙏

Southern grandmas, close your ears. My card may be revoked. But when your girls eat an entire quart before you can even get the bags closed — you’re doing something RIGHT. 👏

Raw peanuts just hit the store and we went full send. Toss them in the crockpot, add a lot of salt, crank it to high, walk away for 12 hours, and let the magic happen. No babysitting a hot stove. No stirring every 20 minutes. Just perfect boiled peanuts every. single. time. 🙌

We put up 8 quarts in the freezer so we can have that summer taste all winter long — because yes, boiled peanuts freeze beautifully and yes, that’s a hill I will die on. ⛰️

Tradition is everything, but so is actually enjoying your summer. The crockpot understood the assignment. 🫶

I was always told what I was good at.
What career made sense.
What path I should take.

And if I’m honest, a lot of my decisions in young adulthood were shaped by those expectations.

Now at 39, I’m still figuring out what I want to be when I grow up. 😂

But there was one dream that never changed—one dream that was completely mine.

To be a mom.

Not a perfect mom.
Just a good one.

And on the days I question everything else, that’s the dream I’m most proud to be living. ❤️

After my daughter asked for a nightstand, I did what I always do — skipped every new furniture store and went straight to the hunt. Months of checking local shops, scrolling Facebook Marketplace daily, and passing on anything that didn’t have that perfect old soul to it… for just $35, we finally found THE one. 😍

The confidence that comes from getting your hair done needs to be studied.

I don’t do enough self care but very 8 weeks I walk in looking exhausted and leave feeling prettier, funnier, more productive, and somehow better equipped to handle life. 😂💁‍♀️

Nothing says “security” quite like taking a walk with a dog whose biggest life goal is making friends.

She’s not protecting us from anything, but she is making sure nobody walks by without admiring her. 😂🐶

Trying to teach my kids that showing up matters more than looking perfect. We may not be our Sunday best, but after locating missing shoes, fixing hair, and loading up the crew, we’re headed to church anyway. That’s a win in my book. 🙌❤️

I don’t remember many celebrations growing up outside of Christmas, Thanksgiving, and a few birthdays. It just wasn’t something we really did. As a mom, I’ve always tried to celebrate the little milestones—first day of school, last day of school, awards ceremonies, and now the first day of summer break.

Maybe it’s overcompensation. Maybe it’s creating the kind of memories I wish I had. Either way, these simple surprises make my girls smile, and that’s reason enough for me. ❤️☀️

This year’s “Happy First Day of Summer Break” was mostly things they needed anyway, but to them it felt like a celebration—and that’s what matters.
