In observance of the upcoming Juneteenth holiday, all City offices, courts, Chesapeake Public Library locations, Chesapeake Animal Services, and Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism community centers will be CLOSED on Friday, June 19. The Visitor Center will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. There will be no change to the trash collection schedule. Normal operating schedules will resume on Monday, June 22.

Who’s hungry?

Homeschool students at Russell Memorial Library learned about spring bird migration and created bird feeders from paper tubes, giant pinecones, Crisco, and bird seed.
