Hickory rowed hard at the Mid-Atlantic Youth Regionals this past weekend in NJ.
Our W2X and W4+ both advanced through time trials and battled hard in their heats, showing strength and determination with every stroke.
Our MV4+ and MV8+ gave it everything they had, but did not advance past time trials.
We are proud of every athlete who raced this weekend! We are also proud of the camaraderie and support shown between teammates all weekend long. That’s what this sport is all about.
Next up is our final race of the season. We’re headed back to Elizabeth City for Bugsy Sprints. Let’s finish strong. Go Hickory!

Today, we would like to take a moment to thank all of the moms who make so much of this team possible.
Thank you for the countless things you do behind the scenes to help this team succeed. We have moms on the coaching staff, moms serving on the BOD, moms holding committee positions, moms generously donating countless hours in the food tent, serving as practice parents, and supporting this team in so many other ways.
Words cannot express our gratitude, today and every day, for everything you do to help keep this boat afloat. Your efforts do not go unnoticed.
Hickory Crew would not be the same without you. You are appreciated today and always. 🩷💐

What an incredible weekend for Hickory Crew at the 2026 VASRA State Championship!
Our W2x of Jolie Gerloff (Sr.) and Josie Hanes (Jr.) battled their way to a 2nd place finish against tough competition and earned some well deserved hardware! 🥈
Our M1x rower, Jack Evans (Fr.), also put together a strong performance, holding his own in a highly competitive field and finishing 4th overall.
We are beyond proud of these athletes and the way they represented Hickory Crew last weekend.
