The Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract provides overhaul support for Controllable Pitch Propeller Blade sets, Monoblack sets, and Monoblock propellers.

The CREAFORM HandySCAN is a portable, high-accuracy handheld 3D laser scanner used for professional-grade measurement, inspection, and reverse engineering. It’s widely used in industries where precision is critical, like aerospace, automotive, marine, and advanced manufacturing.

The HandySCAN uses multiple laser lines and high-resolution sensors to capture the exact shape of an object in real time, creating a highly detailed 3D digital model. Unlike stationary scanners, it’s designed to be taken directly to the part, whether that’s on a shop floor, in a service bay, a dock floor, or out in the field.

At Wildcat Propellers, the CREAFORM HandySCAN is used to:

• Digitally map propeller blades to capture precise pitch, cup, rake, and blade geometry

• Design components when CAD files are not available

• Inspect damage such as bends, warping, or uneven wear that can’t be seen by eye

• Verify repairs by comparing before-and-after scans to ensure blades matchoriginal specifications

Last Friday we received two props from McAllister Towing from the 127’ vessel Donny F McAllister from New York. Both wheels will be inspected, while one requires a complete overhaul. When complete, these will be returned to new and tuned perfectly for the vessel and the kind of work it does.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a sportfishing boat chasing marlin, a tugboat assisting an aircraft carrier or an icebreaker providing safe waterways through ice-covered waters. We see it all.
