Seen where someone did some carving and tooling in the flesh (rough) side of a saddle. I've never done that that so decided to give it a try. Actually shows up pretty well.

Really getting close to finishing this one. Installed the skirts today, and tied them off. Now I just have to touch up some edge dressing, trim the stings, and polish it up will post the FINISHED photos in a day or two.

This saddle is almost done. Wet molding fenders and Stirup leathers today. I really think doing the carved stirup leathers on the outside was a good decission.

Having some nostalgic fun. I recently posted a comment that included a picture of the orginial leathercrafting kit that I started with back in seventh grade. Anyway, I thought it might be fun to make something from the original kit. I no longer had the patterns so I had to recreate them, fortunately I did not have to do so from memory.

Final coat of Tan-coat finish applied to saddle parts. Next need to assemble and shape fenders/Stirup Leathers, then final Saddle assembly.
