Smokemont Riding Stables

Riding horseback across Smoky Mountain rivers, through hidden tunnels and past waterfalls?! That's exactly what you can do with Smokemont Riding Stables in Cherokee, North Carolina! Here you can saddle up and ride deep into Great Smoky Mountains National Park on guided trail rides. You can choose multiple different horseback ride types and lengths, with shorter one-hour rides leading you across the Oconaluftee River along trails with views of the Smokies beyond...while the longer rides take you along Chasteen Creek where you'll ride past waterfalls, cross creeks and even head through hidden hiking tunnels deep in the backcountry. There's even a riverside wagon ride for those who prefer to be pulled behind horses instead! The horses here are well-trained and all rides are guided...so those with any experience level can enjoy!

We just want to say thank you and look forward to riding with you again in 2025! Smokemont Riding Stables will be closing soon. The last day to ride with us will be Sunday, November 3rd. As we rap-up this season, we just want to thank everyone for riding with us and for making this season a special one. We can't wait to see everyone in 2025!
