Cherokee Central Schools campus will be lifting the shelter-in-place, and buses will load and depart as normal. Student pickup will also resume as usual.
We appreciate everyoneโs patience, understanding, and cooperation during this event. Thank you for helping us keep our students and staff safe.
6/10/26 12:19pm
Cherokee Central Schools campus is currently closed, and the school is operating under a Shelter in Place in accordance with guidance from tribal Emergency Management due to a situation occurring off campus.
At this time, all students, staff, and visitors on campus are safe, and there is no known threat to our campus. The Shelter in Place has been implemented out of an abundance of caution while we await further direction from the appropriate authorities.
We do not currently have a timeframe for when normal campus operations will resume. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as soon as additional information becomes available.
Any athletes and individuals currently on campus will be provided lunch and supervised while the Shelter in Place remains in effect.
The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and visitors remain our highest priority. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we follow established protocols and await further guidance.
Additional updates will be shared as soon as they become available.
