📚 Why We Do It Wednesday 📚
Pouring is a joyful, hands-on activity that supports children’s natural desire to explore and do things independently. As they carefully scoop, lift, and pour, they strengthen the small muscles in their hands while building hand-eye coordination, balance, and control. These practical life experiences help develop confidence, concentration, and independence—all while learning through play and discovering that it’s okay to make little messes along the way.
As children grow, these same skills carry over into everyday tasks, like independently filling their own water bottles in our Pre-K classroom!
💛 Play with a purpose! 💛

📚 Why We Do It Wednesday 📚
Heavy work activities—like pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying—help children learn about their bodies by providing important proprioceptive input (input to the muscles and joints). These activities support body awareness, coordination, and self-regulation, helping children feel calm, organized, and ready to learn.

📚 Why We Do It Wednesday 📚
Our open glue board is all about giving children the freedom to create! With scissors, glue, paper, and a variety of materials, they can cut, tear, stick, and design whatever they imagine.
While it may look like simple play, they’re strengthening fine motor skills, practicing hand-eye coordination, making creative choices, solving problems, and building confidence—all through open-ended exploration. At Magnolia, we value the process just as much as the finished masterpiece!
💛 Play with a purpose! 💛
