We are excited to announce that the CHS Wind Ensemble has been selected to perform at the 2027 Washington Music Educators Association Conference in Yakima! The CHS Wind Ensemble was selected by a panel, based on a blind audition process, including current and future members on the WMEA board. This is a tremendous honor to be selected to perform and we are very excited to share our talents here at CHS at the state music educators conference in February 2027.

Two mini Saturday camps and two evening music rehearsals later, and the CHS Marching Band is ready to hit the 2026 marching band season head on in August! We ended yesterday’s mini camp rehearsing a portion of our show as a full music ensemble. We are excited to get to work later this summer and start bringing our 2026 program to life! Public show announcement coming soon!!!

Our trombone trio, mallet duet, brass choir, woodwind choir, and our soloists Lauren and Ryan had great performances at State Solo and Ensemble the past couple of days.

Lauren Ricketson took home second place in the Euphonium solo division, and our brass vote took home second place in the brass ensemble large division. A huge congratulations to Lauren and the brass core on their placements!

Our orchestra and choir students also performed great all weekend as well. Shout out to Binx Dobson, who was our vocal soloist for us while our Wind Ensemble played Angels in the Architecture in March, who received third place in the alto solo voice category!

Another great musical weekend in the books for our amazing Blackhawks. Up next, marching band percussion placements on Tuesday and our first full group mini camp on Saturday!
