A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Sedgwick County, including all of the TS news coverage area in Sedgwick County. The warning goes until 11:30 PM.
The Sumner County portion of our area is not included in the warning. Both counties are under a severe thunderstorm, watch until 1 AM.
This system has produced incredibly high winds, including over 100 mph in Saline County, and there appears to be damage in Salina as well. This entire system is moving southeast, and is bringing winds as high as 80 mph from Harvey County into northern Sedgwick County. The leading edge of the storm is moving quickly, at about 40 mph.

Timothy “Tim” Norbert Jotzke, 78, passed away on September 18, 2025. He was born on September 23, 1946 in Des Moines, IA.

Youth to perform 'Snow White' play
Conway Springs area students are attending theater camp this week, and will perform a full show on Friday.
“Snow White and the Seven Endings” started on Monday with auditions, and participants spent the week learning their parts and learning about theater in general.
They will perform a full 40-minute show at 7 p.m. Friday at Conway Springs High School. The youth are in grades three through nine.
The cast includes the following as the dwarves: Avery Maus as Grimmly, Avery Cox as Clumsy, Asher Salisbury as Bumpsy, Henry Osner as Daring, Joyce Salisbury as Plucky, Hazel Herndon as Scarlett, Avey Honses as Twinkle Toes, and Colson Allen as Spindiana Jones.
Others actors are Makayla Carl, Jessa Smith and Riley O'Neal as Snow White; Cassiday Cox and Kate Zoglmann as the Evil Queen; Reagan Maus and Emma Osner as Hag; Paisley Haskins and Delaney Fisher as the Mirror; Logan Regehr as the Huntsman/Huntswoman; and Ezekio Hutchins as the Prince.
Crew members include Annabelle Leddy, Victoria Leddy and Johah Salisbury.
Adult crew members are Tamara Salisbury as director, C.J. Kennard as assistant director, Melissa Doffing on costumes, and lights and sound by CSHS audio-visual students.

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT 🚨
Deputies and emergency crews are currently on scene of a critical injury crash involving a semi tractor-trailer at US-54 and 263rd Street West.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while first responders work the scene and conduct their investigation.
Please use caution if traveling nearby and allow emergency personnel the space they need to safely perform their duties.

Michael L. “Mickey” Cross, 43, died May 27, 2026.
He was born April 9, 1983, the son of Cliff and Bethlene “Beth” Albright Cross. A resident of El Dorado, previously of Winfield, he was in general maintenance personnel at the Cappers Foundation in El Dorado.
