"Easy going down, hell coming up!" The Basement Bar is Cheney's premiere college bar and nightlife spot!
The inspiration for the bar was the idea of 'a bar FOR EWU students created BY EWU students'. Since 2006, The Basement has been serving the EWU and Cheney communities and continues to be EWU Alumni owned, managed, and operated.

We turned 20 this weekend! 🎉
The Basement opened Memorial Day weekend in 2006 and was founded by three former ASEWU student-body
representatives. For the majority of our 20 year existence we’ve been owned, managed, and staffed by EWU alumni and/or current students 🦅
We are grateful to our EWU and Cheney community for supporting us through the years and are excited to continue serving y’all! Just think, one more year and we’ll finally be old enough to buy a drink! 🍻😂
