As a reminder, Chelsea Black Community - CBC will host a Juneteenth Celebration from 12:00-5:00 today at Washington Park. This music and food festival will have activities for all ages!

Field Day at the Wright, CAMS students visit Harvard's Center for Astrophysics, the Hooks Wax Museum and a special Kelly School Family Night are all included in today's edition of Superintendent's Weekly Updates!

Aria Green, one of our amazing 8th grade students at the Morris H. Seigal Clark Avenue Middle School, is featured in a documentary produced by U.S. Soccer! Aria and her mother spoke about how playing soccer with Soccer Without Borders and on the CHS girls soccer team helped her find a sense of. belonging and community.

Her story is part of the Boston episode of the "United States of Soccer" series that is featured on the U.S. Soccer YouTube channel to an audience of over 570,000 subscribers.

Not only is Aria a star on the soccer field, she is also one of six CPS track & field students competing at NATIONALS this week. Aria is competing in shot put at nationals.

Aria Green, una de nuestras increíbles estudiantes de octavo grado de la Escuela Intermedia Morris H. Seigal Clark Avenue, aparece en un documental producido por U.S. Soccer. Aria y su madre compartieron cómo jugar al fútbol con Soccer Without Borders y en el equipo femenino de fútbol de Chelsea High School la ayudó a encontrar un sentido de pertenencia y comunidad.

Congratulations to our educators and district leaders who were recognized by the Chelsea Rotary Club this week!

Officer of Innovation, Access and Opportunity Malik Howshan was named the Rotarian of the Year and a Paul Harris Fellow for exemplary service and outstanding dedication to the ideals of rotary.

Richard Romanoff from the Berkowitz Elementary School, Michelle Kenney from the Morris H. Seigal Clark Avenue Middle School and Ashley Flores from Chelsea High School were all named Educators of the Year! Thank you, Richard, Michelle and Ashley, for all you do for CPS students and your respective school communities.

And Dr. Aaron T. Jennings was recognized as the outgoing President of the Chelsea Rotary Club after serving in the role over the past year.

Good Luck to our Track & Field student athletes (and Coach!) who will be competing at Nationals this week!

Yesterday, we gathered as a community to say thank you to our crossing guards!

These dedicated individuals play a vital role in our district, helping ensure the safety of our students and families as they travel to and from school each day. Throughout the school year, they build meaningful relationships with students, greeting them with a smile and helping them feel welcomed and supported at the beginning and end of each school day.

A special congratulations to our crossing guards who were recognized for perfect attendance this year and for years of dedicated service to Chelsea Public Schools.

Chelsea Black Community - CBC will be hosting Juneteenth Day this Friday, June 19th, 2026 at Washington Park (386 Washington Avenue) in Chelsea from 12:00-5:00pm.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. It marks June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston and announced that the Civil War had ended and that enslaved African Americans were free. This occurred more than two years after the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality and justice.

Chelsea Black Community (CBC) celebrará el Día de Juneteenth este viernes el 19 de junio de 2026 en Washington Park (386 Washington Avenue) en Chelsea, de 12:00 p.m. a 5:00 p.m.

Juneteenth conmemora el fin de la esclavitud en los Estados Unidos. Esta fecha recuerda el 19 de junio de 1865, cuando soldados de la Unión llegaron a Galveston y anunciaron que la Guerra Civil había terminado y que las personas afroamericanas esclavizadas eran libres. Esto ocurrió más de dos años después de la emisión de la Proclamación de Emancipación. These two students attended the French National soccer team's practice at Bentley University last Friday with Soccer Without Borders and met one of the best soccer players in the world!

Estos dos estudiantes de CPS asistieron el pasado viernes a una práctica de la Selección Nacional de Francia en Bentley University junto a Soccer Without Borders y tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer a uno de los mejores futbolistas del mundo.
