Once upon a time… (like, last month)
Two musicians, Lynne Welden and Lon Eldridge, were just at the finish line for their projects.
One album just needed to be pressed into CDs.
The other just needed to be mixed and mastered.
So they applied for a Producer’s Fund Grant.
And after review… we couldn’t choose.
It was a tie!
So naturally… we turned them into paper puppets to make the announcement (sorry, not sorry).
Congratulations to Lynne and Lon 🎉
We’re so proud of you both!.
SoundCorps exists to make music happen in Chattanooga. And, with people like Lynne and Lon, Chattanooga music just keeps getting better!
Next grant round opens May 1

After reviewing 39 inspiring proposals, we’re excited to announce August Bruce as our February Producer’s Fund Grant recipient!!
August’s project supports three emerging fiddle players through direct mentorship, education, and the passing down of traditions core to her own musical practice. Through this work, August is helping carry forward the sounds, techniques, and expressive styles of regional fiddle music into the next generation. Her business is called — follow along with her there!
When she’s not teaching private fiddle lessons or performing around town, August loves hunting for curiosities and vintage finds at estate sales and thrift stores, decoupage (see her fiddle case!), jamming with friends, or hanging out at or another live music spot. She’s also in the process of forming a new band — stay tuned for what’s next from our big-hearted, talented, and inspiring February Producer’s Fund Grant recipient, August Bruce! Show some love for August in the comments! ❤️
