RockPoint Church

Our mission team was able to participate in a special dedication ceremony with the family they built the home for through Casas Pro Cristo. During this special time they sang “Holy Forever” together in Spanish, provided the family with Bibles and words they wrote to the family, and handed over the keys as they prayed over the new home. Our RockPoint team will forever be impacted by all that God did through this time and through our interactions with the community in Guatemala.

This last week a team of High School students and leaders from RockPoint headed to San Raymundo, Guatemala to work alongside Casas Por Cristo to help build a home for a family in need. The team got to work alongside the Casas Por Cristo Missionary and team, as well as the local Pastor, to build relationships with the family as well as construct the home. Our team of adults and teens spent three days on the site working to build the family’s home. The first day was spent laying the foundation which meant lots of heavy lifting! The team worked in different roles to systematically carry buckets of water, rock, sand, and concrete. From there the concrete was mixed, laid, and leveled. The following two days, everyone helped to frame the home, put up walls, a roof and the finishing touches. The entire team continually worked together to serve one another and the family with patience and joy!

Sunday’s annual Summer Kick-Off party for our elementary students was so much FUN! 🌊☀️ Our UpStreet kids had a blast on water slides, dunking their leaders, and jumping around with their friends! So thankful for a shared memory with our elementary kids and leaders to further deepen this sweet community.

With all the families that travel on Memorial Day Weekend (including a mission trip taking several Family Ministry volunteers away that Sunday) and with our dependence on our amazing volunteers to make effective and welcoming environments for children and adults we will not have any services on Sunday, May 24.

We look forward to being back together on Sunday, May 31 as we begin a new series!

One of our amazing Love Chattanooga partners, Blue Monarch, joined us on Sunday and it’s hard to put into words just how impactful this Sunday was! Blue Monarch exists to help women and their children break adverse cycles of addiction, abuse, and hardship to rebuild their families and find freedom, healing, and identity in Jesus Christ.

We had the opportunity to worship together and hear from two of their staff members who are also graduates of the program. Both Shakia and Alexis shared of the miraculous work God is doing and also the reality of how important loving community and support is needed in the journey. Justin shared from Luke 10 and spoke on the importance of loving our neighbor and how we are able to do that because of the generous love of Jesus extended to all of us.

We are so grateful for this partnership and it was such a gift to be together this Sunday!

Mother’s Day is THIS Sunday, May 10 and we can’t wait to celebrate all our amazing moms! We will have a photo booth in the lobby for family photos as a special gift for moms.

PLEASE NOTE: If you would like professional photos, our photographer will be available before and after the 9:15am service and ONLY before the 11:15am service. The photo booth will still be available after the 11:15am for phone photos.
