SPARC’s first adaptive cycling event of 2026 was held yesterday afternoon and was blessed with 27 participants, 45 volunteers, plus family members and beautiful weather! Thanks to everyone who attended, especially the ladies of Soddy United Methodist Church who brought great snacks, and our partners Chattanooga Therapeutic Recreation and Outdoor Chattanooga! We are looking forward to another great Cycling Season! ; ; ;

SPARC’s last w/c basketball event of the year provided our best turnout ever with 28 players requiring two simultaneous games! Thanks are due to the UTC DPT students and Chattanooga State PTA students for volunteering! ; ; ; ;

The SPARC Family is deeply saddened to share the news that Larry Lackey, passed away Saturday in a local hospital. SPARC has been blessed for many years to have Larry as a dear friend and wonderful volunteer, father of SPARC athlete, Gina, and husband of Sharon. Larry’s humor “kept us all on our toes” while he served in registration at our snow skiing and water skiing events! He will be missed but never forgotten! Please keep Sharon and Gina in your prayers.

SPARC Family and Friends, please pray for Bill Hillerman, who suffered serious illness yesterday afternoon and is in a Hospital ICU. Bill has been a loyal friend and G.O.A.T. volunteer for many years for not only SPARC, but many other adaptive sports organizations, plus his church, and his family! Bill is also a US Army Veteran. Thank you for keeping Bill and his family in your prayers!

SPARC Wheelchair Basketball Saturday January 10th, 2026. Another great turnout plus new and “experienced“ players! Great fun, exercise, and socializing was had by all! We are always “reaching” to be as good as Lebron! Thank you always Chattanooga Therapeutic Recreation and Hixson Community Center for providing great facilities and support! ; ; ;
