As 2024 comes to a close, I think back on the numerous books that I’ve read this year. There have been some great reads, some average & some that I could not finish because I thought they were terrible. (Yes, even some bestselling authors aren’t for everyone.)
This book ⬇️ is undoubtedly my best read of 2024. Not just this year, but it is one of my top five of all time.
It is the perfect balance of heartbreak & hope. It draws you into a seemingly unremarkable life, then you discover the life is extraordinary.

People often ask why I chose to write under a pseudonym. With my last name being ‘New’, I didn’t know what would be generated in a search engine- can you imagine how many descriptions may contain the word New. It took a long time for me to choose a pen name. Sadly, my Granny Kinzella passed away while I was writing my first novel. She was the most near and dear to my heart, so I chose Kinz. It only seemed fitting as a way of paying tribute to such a great lady.

Stephanie Kinz is a Kentucky Native, who now resides in Chattanooga, Tennesse. She is a wife, mother, and has held job titles in the banking and medical fields. Becoming a writer was a dream that she decided to pursue after becoming an empty-nester.
Stubborn as Elle and Rebel Elle are the first two books of The Elle Riley Mystery Series. The two books are heavily influenced by her Appalachian heritage. She plans on adding more titles to the series, as well as some stand-alone works.
