Shop update:

After March 1, 2026, I will be closing the shop to one-off orders and new subscribers. I will be servicing existing subscribers only.

I'll be referring everyone else to the double reed shops that are carrying my reeds. Stay tuned for those locations.

Why? I'm working as an Executive Assistant again and do not have the bandwidth to provide the level of service this business requires (read: I just can't answer all the emails).

Thrilled to announce...

Whoops. Forgot which website this was. Anyway, I sent this info out in a newsletter yesterday. And now I'm attempting to figure out what's changed on Business Facebook since 2010. (It is a lot.)

I'm a full-time reedmaker now (again). As some of you may have known, in addition to reedmaking and freelancing at orchestra gigs, I was also an executive assistant to the CFO/COO at a small software company here in Chattanooga.

Welp.

My boss moved on to another org, but wasn’t able to take me with him, and the company eliminated my role…so I’m testing the waters of self-employment for a while! (The job market for EAs is not great right now.)

What does this mean for you?

I’m hoping to reduce turnaround times, add new products, and open up some spots for virtual lessons/reed help/classes.

Right now, I’m at just under a month’s wait, because I am working on two bulk orders and oddly have a lot of orchestra work this month. But I am chipping away at the backlog! I have a banner note on the website (that I mostly keep current) that says what order dates I’m finishing.

I’d also like to thank each and every person who has ordered a reed from me, which led me to even consider giving this a try.

As always, any and all feedback is welcome - feel free to respond to this with questions, concerns, things you’d like to see in the shop or on the website, etc.
