The last August due date baby decided he’d rather have a September birthday instead.
He must have been very comfy in utero!
He made his amazing & patient mama endure lots of prodromal labor, but this cutie was definitely worth the wait.
Although he still kinda looks like he’s not sure about being out! 😆

Often we do notice that a shift in barometric pressure/weather patterns, brings on the babies!

A birth dream?

Startled awake to the Ring.
Racing, adrenaline pulsing.
Grab bags, running - greeted at the door by an excited yet anxious Dad; “her water just broke”

Pleading eyes meet mine. A wash of relief follows a reassuring, knowing look & a hand tightly squeezed.

I send a silent prayer up, just like I always do in the imminence, the waiting.

A clamor of pushes & just like that babe slips into the night with a l***y cry.

Thank you Jesus.

Back home to bed to close my eyes, just as the rest of the world arises.

A wink later,
I wipe slumber from my eyes, and for a moment I wonder, was it all a dream?

The most beautiful most perfect experience to be a part of. I will never not be in awe of witnessing a birth, I will never not hold back tears watching a baby be brought into this world. The presence of God filled every inch of this home on this day and I felt so unworthy but beyond grateful to be allowed to be a part of the day the Longo’s brought their beautiful baby girl into the world. Welcome to the world Nora Marie, you are already so loved!

We were devastated to hear that one of our families is going through the unthinkable - a leukemia diagnosis. Sweet baby Eli has been diagnosed with AML Leukemia, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer at just six months old.
They could use community support and prayer coverage right now. 💙

Midwife Andrea’s baby has arrived!

✨Wilder James Wilson✨
10 lbs, 6 oz & 23 in of chunky goodness.
Midwife Andrea was packing her bags and equipment Friday during the day in anticipation of an impending birth later that evening.
At 1:45 am her own water broke, and by the break of dawn, baby had arrived!

Midwife Katriel is busy catching more babies (she headed to two other families after leaving the Wilsons’)
Midwife Andrea and family are soaking in their postpartum and resting well.
We are so grateful for all the prayers and well wishes from our amazing families. Some of y’all had to pivot your birth team last minute and we are especially grateful for your willingness to do so. Shout out to Midwife Drexel and Natalie .in.bloom.doula for stepping in as extra support. It truly takes a village!

Most of you know I’m eagerly (and probably not so patiently) waiting on baby #7.
It’s been a fun perspective shift sitting on the sofa instead of the one sitting in this chair. It’s also been a first hand reminder of the beauty that is the midwifery model of care. 💗
I left feeling cared for, empowered and heard.
So thankful that the amazing (and adorable) Midwife Katriel and Sora team have been holding down the fort so well for clinic days. (Midwife Andrea is still on call for births until babe makes his appearance!) It has been a sweet respite to center myself as I prepare for my own birth and newborn period.
It also got me thinking about how grateful I am for a group practice model.

Less than two hours after kissing big brother as he was going down for his nap, baby brother ✨Pierce McCoy✨was born!
What a cool surprise to wake up to a baby brother. Mom was so strong - she endured weeks of prodromal labor, but trusted her body’s perfect timing.
It’s an honor to watch this repeat family grow!
