We are so excited to add the City of Chanhassen's first Community Land Trust home to our land trust portfolio! This project represents collaboration between multiple partners, creating a lasting affordable homeownership opportunity. We are honored to be part of this partnership.

Affordable Homeownership Gets a Boost in Chanhassen | News List | Chanhassen, MN City leaders, project partners and community members gathered on June 8 to celebrate the ribbon cutting for Chanhassen's first Community Land Trust home, marking an important milestone in the city's ongoing efforts to expand affordable homeownership opportunities.

Carver County CDA is thrilled to announce we are back with a new round of down payment assistance! This year, we are offering two variations of funding; standard down payment assistance (DPA) and a first-generation set-aside DPA.

If you are a first-time or first-generation homebuyer that makes less than $131,500 (not adjusted by household size) looking to purchase a home in Carver County, this may the program for you.

For this year’s round of funding, we have decided to partner with four amazing lenders to assist us with these DPA programs. Thank you to our wonderful partner lenders:

Earlier this month, the Open House was held for our, soon to be, newest Community Land Trust home in Chanhassen! This acquisition/rehab project occurred in partnership with the original homeowner, Ruth Lunde, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, City Of Chanhassen, and Minnesota Housing. Our Board Chair, Celi Haga, the Chanhassen Mayor, Elise Ryan, and Habitat President, Chris Coleman, all gave inspiring remarks.

A special thank you to Ruth Lunde, the original homeowner, who led the way on this project!

We are so grateful for the partners that made this possible and are excited to officially add this home to our Community Land Trust! 🏘️

Neighborhood Development Alliance (NeDA) is offering a FREE in-person Financial Literacy Workshop in Spanish, and there are still spots available! Participants will learn about budgeting, credit, debt, savings, and more.

Over the last couple of months, we have hosted a number of "Coffee with the Boss" events with our staff! During these events, staff have a chance to attend, learn more, and ask questions about a variety of topics and upcoming projects. Our previous two meeting topics included our upcoming project Trail's Edge Senior and a presentation on Serving our Community and the resources that are available in Carver County. It is always a great time getting together with staff for these events!

Last week, Carver County CDA staff attended the 2026 Affordable Housing Summit! The Summit included insights from affordable housing leaders and updates on the industry. It was a great chance to network and connect with our peers in the housing community to continue driving positive change! 🏘️

Our CDA Board of Commissioners approved funding awards through the 2026 Community Growth Partnership Initiative (CGPI)! The funds work to invest in projects that strengthen local communities, expand the tax base, and enhance quality of life across the County.

For 2026, the CDA Board approved funding for six projects across various cities of Carver County, totaling $320,875!
