🌟 Spotlight Saturday 🌟

This week we're shining the spotlight on Naomi... and her four-legged coworker, Mika! 🐾

Naomi joined the GE team in January 2026 as a Warehouse Specialist, where she keeps busy folding fabric, creating labels, and even jumping in with a little light tech support when needed. Before joining GE, she worked as a software engineer - proving that whether it's writing code or wrangling fabric, she's up for the challenge!

When she's not at work, Naomi is a true creative at heart. She loves just about every craft you can think of, including freestanding embroidery, 3D printing, and stone etching... but no matter how many hobbies she explores, she always finds her way back to sewing and painting. 🎨🧵

Now for Naomi's trusty sidekick! Meet Mika, our unofficial Assistant to the Warehouse Specialist. 🦴 Naomi gifted herself this beautiful Siberian Husky after graduating college, and for the past seven years Mika has been faithfully keeping Naomi safe while earning the title of the quietest husky you'll ever meet (yes, really!).

When she's off the clock, Mika enjoys sniffing absolutely everything, making new friends at the dog park, and living her best life whenever there's snow to play in. ❄️🐕

We're so thankful to have Naomi—and Mika!—as part of the GE family.

🌟 Spotlight Saturday! 🌟

This week, we’re excited to introduce Connie, our newest GE Designs team member!

Connie joined us in March 2026 as a Fulfillment Specialist, where she helps keep orders moving out the door. She’s usually busy helping with shipping, but you may also find her jumping in to help pick orders when needed. We love a team player!

When she’s not helping get happy mail on its way, Connie loves making jewelry, crafting, and spending time with animals—especially horses, rabbits, and dogs. 🐴🐰🐶

Connie has also traveled extensively, visiting nearly every state, along with amazing places like Bali, Australia, and even living in Japan!

Most of all, Connie loves people, which makes her such a wonderful fit for our team and community.

✨ Spotlight Saturday: Meet Carolanne! ✨

This week we're celebrating Carolanne, our Email Marketing & Merchandising Coordinator! 🎉 She joined the GE team in July 2025 and is celebrating her one-year anniversary on July 14th - happy almost workiversary, Carolanne! 🥳

Carolanne works remotely from beautiful Oregon, where she's busy making sure our emails, website, and products are looking their very best. When she's off the clock, you'll find her tending to her garden or cheering on the Portland Timbers. ⚽🌿

Before joining the quilting world, Carolanne spent 10 years in the pocket knife industry (including working with Atli!) and has an impressive 13 years of ecommerce experience. She also has dual citizenship, with her family originally from Juárez, Mexico.

And now for the hot take... 🌶️ While Andy may claim he has the world's best dog, Carolanne would like everyone to know that title actually belongs to her 14-year-old Chihuahua, Max. 🐶❤️ We're staying neutral... but Max does sound pretty convincing!

We're so thankful to have Carolanne on the GE team. Her creativity, experience, and sense of humor make her such a joy to work with!

🌟 Spotlight Saturday! 🌟

This week, we're excited to introduce Andy, our Manager of Ecommerce Operations!

For the past 3 years, Andy has been the behind-the-scenes expert keeping all things GE Designs website-related running smoothly. From troubleshooting technical hiccups to making website updates and supporting the entire team, if it happens online, there's a good chance Andy has had a hand in it!

Andy works remotely from Oregon, but thanks to our regular team meetings, he's never far from the conversation. He's always ready to jump in, lend a hand, and help solve whatever challenge comes up.

With more than 20 years of experience in retail and ecommerce, Andy loves helping customers find products that make them happy - and we're pretty sure that passion shines through every day.

While Andy isn't a quilter... yet 😉, he loves being part of the GE Designs family and is inspired by the incredible enthusiasm and creativity of both our team and our amazing quilting community.

When he's away from his desk, you'll most likely find him outside making memories with his adventurous wife, their two wonderful kids (ages 10 and 14), and what he confidently claims is the world's best dog. 🐶

We're so grateful for everything Andy does to keep GE Designs running behind the scenes. Even from over 1,500 miles away, he's an important part of our team, and we couldn't do it without him.

🌟Spotlight Saturday!🌟

This week we're celebrating one of our amazing team members, Julie! ❤️

Julie has been part of the GE Designs family since 2019, back when the business was still run out of Gudrun's house. In those early days, she helped pack patterns and fold fabric - and like many of us, probably had no idea how much GE would grow!

Today, Julie wears several important hats. She is our Longarm Quilting Specialist, a valued member of our Creative Development Team, and the person who keeps our subscription programs running smoothly. If you've enjoyed one of our subscriptions, chances are Julie had a hand in making it happen.

Of course, that's only her GE life.

In her "spare time" (we use that term very loosely 😆), Julie teaches piano, runs an event staging business, keeps bees, gardens, designs gardens, enjoys being outdoors, and is a devoted mom and grandma.

And if that wasn't enough, she loves taking advanced courses on subjects she knows absolutely nothing about. Most people relax by watching TV. Julie relaxes by becoming an expert in something entirely new!

We're incredibly grateful for Julie's creativity, dedication, and willingness to jump in wherever she's needed. Since joining GE in 2019, Julie has played an important role in helping us grow, and we couldn't imagine our team without her.
