The home stretch is almost done! To all of our association members, we are excited to celebrate your accomplishments from this year's admissions cycle! Happy National College Decision Day from PCACAC - Celebrate accordingly!

Finally, it's our delight to end Award Week with our Rising Star: Jordan Vaughn! This award honors members who exemplify excellence and dedication to serving the needs of students in the transition from high school to college. Jordan, your work has made a tremendous impact on our region, and we cannot be prouder of you as our Rising Star. Congratulations!

Next up for Awards Week: Outstanding Counselor! Our profession would be nothing without the extremely talented counselors who make it whole. This prestigious award was created to recognize PCACAC members who go above and beyond in their work with students. Congratulations you all and thank you for making our region and our students better!

Of course, we cannot have Awards Week without recognizing our NACAC NEXT recipients! The NEXT Program brings a cohort of members from all regional affiliates for professional development opportunities to build up the next generation of leaders in our industry. We are thrilled to have Joshua, Kelly, and Samantha represent PCACAC this year! Congratulations y'all!

We are drifting away from Season 2 with our episode this month! Our Shifting Currents segment recaps their favorite topics of the season and if any of their thoughts/conversations have changed since being published. Then, the current Presidential Trio talks about the importance of the association, the work of our members, and how we can continue to stay involved! HUGE thank you for all the support you all have shown this season and stay tuned for Season 3 announcements!

Up next for our Awards Week is our Marion Flagg Scholarship recipients! This award is given to counselors who work with historically underserved students, minority students, or students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Congratulations to Ashton Poteete (College Tracks), Jarren Jeffery (MD Juvenile Services Education Program), Kara Stamper (Centreville High School), Renita Rich Bren (Woodside High School), and Taylor Lawrence (Leading Youth Through Empowerment). Your work is so important and impactful to our profession!

The PCACAC Impact Award is presented to an individual or organization that has made a tangible impact on inclusion, access, and success initiatives within the region. We cannot think of a better person who has made a lasting impact in their work than Sanjay Mitchell! Congratulations and thank you for all you have done, and continue to do!

Day 2 of Awards Week goes to Barbara Conner! The John A. "Jack" Blackburn Award for ethics in college admissions was established to recognize a member who promotes the highest ethical standards, integrity in our profession, and equity in access to higher education. Congratulations, Barbara!
