That’s all it takes to be better then 95% of the world in any discipline (The Rule of 100). For example, if you practice the piano for 18 minutes a day for a year….you’ll basically be better then 95% of the world at the piano. Here’s the amazing thing….18 minutes a day is 109 hours a year. That’s just 1.2% of your total available time in a year. Not 98% of your time….only 1.2%. That’s nothing. My point is it doesn’t take much to be special…it just takes consistency. #100HourRule PS: PARENTS:….Imagine if your child committed 18 mins a day for a year in one thing. Then another the next year. Then another skill the next. By the time they are 21….they’d be Jason Bourne

I want to do a shout out to the The Parkinson’s Activity and Resource Center (PARC) in Charlottesville, Virginia. For those of you who don’t know, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s on October 5, 2022. I had been experiencing signs like tremors, memory fog, muscle tightness and fatigue along with double vision for about 7 years before my diagnosis. After numerous visits to my P*P, various neurologists, and multiple tests including 3 MRI’s, I received the scary but not so unexpected diagnosis. On the bright side, I finally had an answer that made sense and explained why my brain and body were not cooperating with me.

Recently, I started taking a classed called Rock Steady Boxing at PARC just 20 minutes from my house. After just 3 - 1 hour sessions I am feeling stronger, more mentally alert and I have hope that I can keep my symptoms from getting worse.

I never thought I would think this, let alone say it outloud but I am grateful to be part of the Parkinson’s community. Don’t get me wrong, I hate this disease but if I have to live with it, it’s great to have people around me that understand what I am going through and who encourage me on my journey to live my best life despite this neurological disorder.

Tonight, I will be attending Bingo, a fundraiser at Random Row Brewing Co. to raise money for PARC. Please join me if you can. It’s only $5 for 10 bingo cards. It starts at 6:00pm. Come early and carpool if you can as parking can be challenging.
