💙 Favorite part of C4K:
The people — especially the young people who walk through our doors every day. I love seeing youth discover new interests, build confidence, and take pride in what they create. It’s also incredibly rewarding to work alongside our amazing staff, board members, mentors, and volunteers who make C4K such a supportive and inspiring community.

🎉 Fun fact:
I once wrote my name on the Berlin Wall (with an erasable pen!) shortly before it came down.

💛 Favorite memory:
When a C4K alum stops by just to say hello — it’s a reminder that C4K is more than a program. It’s a lasting community where people always belong.

✨ Spots still available for STEM From Dance! ✨
STEM From Dance is C4K’s first two-week summer camp for girls and nonbinary youth to explore STEM through movement, music, and technology.

Participants will work with Charlottesville Ballet’s Ty Cooper and C4K staff to:
🌀 Explore the physics of hula hooping and sound waves
💃 Choreograph dance performances
🥁 Build percussion instruments
💡 Create wearable tech and LED-powered performance elements

Today, we celebrate the impact of the Best Buy Teen Tech Center @ C4K as this chapter comes to a close.

Over five years of partnership, Best Buy helped amplify C4K’s work—serving as the catalyst for our 2022 renovation and reopening. Since then, the Teen Tech Center has welcomed nearly 15,000 visits from youth members and community volunteers engaged in STEAM mentoring.

This partnership supported critical staffing and technology upgrades and connected C4K to a nationwide network of Teen Tech Centers, strengthening our ability to learn, collaborate, and better serve Charlottesville-area youth.

While this chapter is ending, the impact endures through the opportunities created and the young people empowered.

After 4 months of collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving, our Members and Mentors brought over 30 incredible projects to life. From original rap songs 🎤 to hand-designed apparel 👕, DIY claw machines 🕹️, Linux tutorials 💻, and so much more — this cohort truly did it all.

We’re so proud of the dedication, innovation, and partnerships that made this Showcase unforgettable. 💡
