One of the coolest parts of this week’s 150th Celebration of The Kappa Sigma Fraternity had to be when these two heroes jumped out of the sky and parachuted down to grounds in front of Headquarters, carrying with them the flag of Kappa Sigma. Being so involved this weekend has afforded me the opportunity to see some really interesting stuff behind the scenes, but getting this shot takes the cake. @ Kappa Sigma Fraternity

Circling the Cathedral on the Rock of Cashel is a cemetery where many families have been buried even up to recent decades. The most notable family is the Scully family because of their unusual gravestone. Though the Cathedral was built in the 12 century, a massive 14-foot cross was built to commemorate passing members of the Scully family in 1867.
Given that the site is on a hill, the tall, leaning cross would have needed additional support to stay up. So, they ran a thick metal rod through the centre of the otherwise stone cross to keep it sturdy.
While this seemed like an easy fix, it became pretty apparent that sporting a massive metal rod atop of a cliff wasn’t the greatest idea in a rainy and thunderous area of Ireland when in 1976 lightning hit the gravestone, shattering it to pieces. Since the gravestone is private property to the Scully family, the remains haven’t been touched or fixed.
The whole area is super spooky with ravens flying and cawing in numbers overhead, living between the stones of the cathedral. @ Rock of Cashel

I only just realized that despite my best efforts to blend in with the locals, my hat easily gives away my status as a tourist
