As power demands rise across the United States, innovative approaches are crucial.
Powered land—locations hosting large-load facilities paired with onsite generation or grid connections—is vital for meeting growing energy needs.
In a new interview, Apex Chief Commercial Officer Eamon Perrel discusses how powered land and co-located generation will deliver energy where it’s needed most while bypassing interconnection delays.

American manufacturing is usually framed as a story of loss. Clean energy is telling a different one. A new report from the American Clean Power Association finds that domestic clean energy manufacturing now contributes $31 billion to U.S. GDP a year and supports 216,000 American jobs—at wages 35% above the national average. Apex builds the projects those factories exist to supply.

This weekend, we celebrated a moment years in the making: gathering in Botetourt County, VA to sign our names to a turbine blade at Rocky Forge Wind, Virginia’s first land-based wind farm.
Once complete, Rocky Forge will power the equivalent of more than 20,000 homes a year and generate up to $25 million in local tax revenue over the life of the project. Thank you to the landowners, officials, workers, and business leaders who helped turn a decade of work into reality and marked this milestone with us.

With support from the Apex Conservation Grant Program, the Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program (CBBEP) and Texan by Nature advanced Bringing Baffin Back, a Texas initiative improving water quality in the Baffin Bay watershed to restore shorebird and waterfowl habitats.
The funding went toward a 12,000-sq.-ft. native habitat and rain garden at Saenz Elementary in Alice, Texas, which uses native plants to naturally filter stormwater runoff, support local biodiversity, and serve as a hands-on conservation education resource for staff and students.

Our team recently had the opportunity to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville for its 2026 Women Build event. Apex volunteers came together to help raise walls for future homes in the Southwood community—just one of the ways we try to give back in the places where we live and work, from our hometown to communities across the country.
