It’s incredibly bittersweet to say goodbye to our beloved Director of Architecture, Bridget, after nearly five amazing years with Alloy.

As she and her family head back home to Minneapolis, we’re so happy for them as they reunite with family and friends, and admittedly a little sad for ourselves.

Bridget has left her mark on Alloy in countless ways: through her extraordinary talent, thoughtful leadership, and the stunning spaces she’s helped bring to life for our clients. We’ll miss her punchy one-liners (often when we least expect them), and the creativity, care, and expertise she brought to every project.

Thank you, Bridget, for everything you’ve given to this team and this community. Minneapolis is getting one of the best. We love you!

We started this month with an awesome volunteer day out at Biscuit Run State Park...time outside, good people, and building some seriously fun features for our mountain biking community!

We loved getting to help build a 4–5 footer line and a 3-foot sender-style drop. Lots of digging, laughing, and dialing things in together, exactly the kind of community energy we love being a part of.

Huge shout out to Charlottesville Area Mountain Bike Club for the ongoing support and stoke, and to Albemarle County for continuing to invest in, restore, and upgrade Biscuit Run Park. It’s awesome to see the park evolving into such a great community space.

And special thanks to Ronnie Vance for being in the mix and helping make this day come together.

Always grateful to give back to the trails and the community that rides them.

Amanda Harlow is joining the Alloy team as our new Design Manager, and honestly… she fits right in already. From her contagious smile and quick sense of humor, to the fact that she can’t help but dance when Bachata comes on, she is our kind of people.

Amanda joins us after spending the past 4 years in the same role with Habitat for Humanity, bringing both incredible talent and heart to everything she creates. A UVA graduate and Charlottesville lover, she appreciates all the charm our city has to offer, but also loves to dream a little bigger, especially when it comes to traveling the world (with a special soft spot for the canals of Venice 🇮🇹).

We’re so excited for you all to get to know Amanda and even more excited to have her as part of the Alloy crew.

We are still thinking about our BBQ + Block Party from last week and honestly… it will be one for the books.

We love a good parking lot hang, complete with a kids water balloon fight and an incredible food spread headlined with ribs off the homemade grill pit, courtesy of our fearless leader, Zach.

Word on the street: “it was the best work party ever.” We’re inclined to agree.

The design by BRW Architects prioritized both creativity and flexibility, while Alloy’s construction ensured the space could function comfortably for a range of uses.
