Code for Cville is working with United by Chocolate on a new project. We are looking for volunteers to help us. Specifically, we are looking for a web designer and web developer, however, we are open to all the help that we can get!! Feel free to message us with any questions!!!

Here comes another member appreciation week post! Jon has been chosen! We are excited to share some fun things Jon does outside of CFC and some fun facts about him!

1.) What squads are you a part of?: Streetlights, Social, Outreach, Expungement, The Shop, Mission
2.) Why did you join Code for Cville?: I wanted to find a way to combine tech and community service, and I was inspired after attending an Open Data Day event hosted by Code for Raleigh and Code for Durham at NC State
3.) What is one thing that you love about Code for Cville?: The incredible volunteers who make up the organization
4.) What do you do outside of Code for Cville?: Data science prof at uva
5.) What's your favorite restaurant?: Can't go wrong with Al Carbon on 29 North
6.) What are some of your hobbies?: Disc golf, world domination, jogging

1.) What squads are you a part of?: The Shop, Core team, Lead
2.) Why did you join Code for Cville?: Primarily to understand and explore the Charlottesville local community, and to apply myself and my skills on work that helps the community
3.) What is one thing that you love about Code for Cville?: The chance to work with so many brilliant people from diverse backgrounds on projects that help the community
4.) What do you do outside of Code for Cville?: I work as a Software Engineer at VMware
5.) What's your favorite restaurant?: Ooh I’m not sure. The Virginian comes to mind
6.) What are some of your hobbies?: I’m an avid reader, now kind of shifting to podcasts. But I love reading books across different genres especially history, politics and economics. I aspire to actually enjoy reading philosophy but I’m not there yet. Other than that I’m into yoga and fitness off late.
