A technical issue with the transponder on the Clayton Williams Racing #137, at Sonoma Raceway on Saturday, meant no lap times registered for Casey during qualifying.
As a result, in spite of the top ten pace lap times, recorded on the car's onboard data system, he was mandated to start Race 1 from last place.
Not helpful for his championship endeavors, but it made for some entertaining video.

Casey got an amazing glimpse into professional level motorsports today when he had the opportunity to prepare for his upcoming Michelin Pilot Challenge race on a state of the art simulator

On his way to root for Team LAP Motorsports on Saturday Casey crossed over the pedestrian bridge that was built by NCSCU Members, as have countless race fans since 2023.

NCSCU Carpenters, Pile Drivers, Lathers, and Mill Wrights enjoy great wages and benefits, as well as the outstanding Apprenticeship training that's provided thru their Collective Bargaining agreements with some of the largest and most successful construction contractors in the United States.

Casey's next race will be at Sonoma Raceway, May 23-24. We hope some NCSCU Brothers & Sisters will come out, stop by the pit to say hi & check out the Miata Casey races in the NASA Teen Mazda Challenge and bring one of their Local's stickers to put on the car.
