Sick? Take a photo of the meds your college student should take, make a note in your phone with the photo. The next time your kid or you want to know what to take when sick, reference the photo. You will thank me π€§π€π€β€οΈ.

This week I made a post about what your student can expect from you - Mom and Dad. π¨π©π§π¦
BUT it goes both ways - our kiddos are moving out and can be under a lot of pressure. πΌ
π During the launch to college, it's normal for them to act out in unexpected ways.
They might be...
πΆ Quiet and withdrawn
π« Overly emotional and snappy
π€ More needy- anxious, wanting reassurance
π‘ Just remember, this is a natural process! They are going through a big transition, and they want to know that you trust them enough to handle it. π±
π Watching your kid turn into an adult overnight can be hard. That's why I created a Parent Support Membership to help you keep tabs on your adult kiddo without stepping on their toes or stunting their growth! π‘οΈ

Moving out is exciting, scary, and nerve-wracking - all at the same time!
Itβs called the college "transition" for a reason - because youβre changing from a kid to an adult. ππ
Keep in mind this is new for your parents too! Theyβre becoming parents of adults (or maybe even empty nesters). And a big change like that can be hard. π¨π©π§π¦
π Just remember that they desperately want to help you succeed, and sometimes they might overcompensate.
ππ€³ They might call you all the time
π
They may over-react about information you share
π They might ask a ton of "annoying" questions
π They will either rarely communicate or over-communicate
My suggestion? Have an honest and open discussion with them about what you need (and what you donβt). π¬
If you are overwhelmed with how your parents are handling this journey - DM me - let's talk and see how I can support you AND your parents! π€

If you thought high school accommodations were difficult to navigate...
College accommodations are about to blow your mind. π€―
First, it's the STUDENT'S responsibility to request accommodations and follow the proper steps to take advantage of them.
Professors are not required to remind students to use their accommodations. π
And one more thing... when you're on the hunt for your campus' accessibility office, get ready for a Where's Waldo Situation.
Check out this list of possible names of accessibility offices around the country just to give you an idea!
When you're ready for a hand navigating college with ADHD, DM me! I'm here to help you succeed! π

If you had asked me back in my college days how I was doing, I would have told you I was just flying by the seat of my pants, surviving.
I might have told you college and ADHD go together like ice cream and garlic. π€
While it was fun at times and exciting, it was also hard, stressful, and sometimes terrifying. BUT, It didn't have to be. π€
My clients return to me year after year because coaching works. Period. π―
They feel less anxious, more on top of their work, confident, and happier! π€ΈπΌ
They have the confidence to communicate with their professors to ask for what they need, so they don't fall behind. π¦πΌ
They have the mental and emotional space to maintain relationships and beat those college blues. π¨πΏπ€π¨π»
Having a quick weekly check-in with your personal cheerleader, someone who understands you and doesn't judge is a bright light that helps you keep your eye on the prize. π‘π©πΌπ
