During Making Smart Moves Sports Day at the Phillips Center in Gastonia, NC, the student-athletes received a special and powerful message from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Since youth across the US are heading back to school, I think it's appropriate to share his message with all of you. We hope you have a great school year and enjoy The Rock's message!!

Making Smart Moves Sports Day - Gastonia was a fun-filled and challenging day packed with sports, learning, teamwork, and 2 special surprises...Back to School Pep Talks from Matt Carroll (Charlotte Hornets) and The Rock!! Special thanks to all our coaches but a HUGE THANKS to SEALPREP Coach Jay, Coach George and their team leaders for facilitating an awesome sports day! Everyone had a blast!!! A special shout-out to our partners: City of Gastonia Parks & Rec, Choice USA Beverage, Carolina Spine Pain & Rehab, The Gore Boyz, Handy Works, LLC, Kimico and The Black Geeks. We couldn't have done this without all of you!!! Enjoy the pics!!!

In partnership with the City of Gastonia, we cordially invite your child to participate in a day of fun. This comprehensive sports day will showcase sports sampling, sports development, an educational curriculum component and motivational speaking for each youth student-athlete. Join us as we promote a positive vibe for returning to school by closing the summer with a memorable event. The event is open to boys and girls, age 6-16 and will highlight five (5) sports...basketball, football, tennis, baseball, and soccer. Only 200 spots available!! DMC ~ Darryl Motivates Charlotte was an event / weekend to remember!! DMC left us with so many inspiring thoughts on realizing our dreams. Then he took us down memory lane..our own private mini-concert!! DMC, his manager Erik, and DJ Charlie Chan Soprano will always have a home in the Queen City. Rumor has it, DMC enjoyed himself so much, he may be coming back next year. Keep it locked in with us to hear the definite announcement.
