“When we first moved to our current house the backyard was a wasteland. The dirt was like dust. I’ve been working every year to bring life back and to turn the dirt into living soil. When I dig into the earth and I see a worm I get very excited. I love ferns and since our backyard has a lot of shade, I turned to them to be my collaborators in my quest to bring life back into the dirt. Each spring it’s so exciting when the ferns awaken and start to unfurl.” - Bridgette Guerzon Mills
