Computers & Writing 2026 will take place June 4–7 on UNC Charlotte’s campus and is co‑hosted by UNC Charlotte and Catawba College. This year’s theme is sustainability, and the program is absolutely stacked with innovative presentations, featured speakers, workshops, and community‑building events.

Online registration includes access to most conference sessions and keynote events. Full registration includes access to all sessions and keynotes as well as meals and a t-shirt.

Early registration ends May 15, so we encourage you to register soon to secure the lower rate.

A message from the CDQ book review editor:

I hope you’re enjoying your summer! I am the book review editor for Communication Design Quarterly (CDQ), and I’m looking for people interested in doing book reviews for upcoming issues. If you or your graduate students are interested, please email me at [email protected]. We have availability in issues beginning in winter 2025 and spring 2026, so we are especially seeking reviews for these issues and future issues.

We seek to elevate the works of multiply marginalized and underrepresented (MMU) scholars by both reviewing their books and publishing reviews by them. As such, we engage an inclusive process for selecting books and reviewers by requesting very brief proposals for reviewing books that fit within CDQ’s general scope.

At this time, we are seeking immediate reviewers for the books listed below, review requests from the working list of books identified for future CDQ review, and general book review requests.

If you are interested in reviewing one of the books linked above or on our future review list, please email me a proposal at [email protected] by July 15 and include the following information:

Which book you want to review
Why you are interested in reviewing the book and what experiences shape your unique perspective in reviewing it (100 words or less)

If you are chosen to review a book for CDQ, I will arrange for you to receive a copy of the book with ample time to read and review it for the journal. I will review responses and select reviewers as soon as possible.
