A federal court has ruled that the EPA’s termination of the Environmental and Climate Justice Block Grant Program was illegal and ordered the program to be restored.
We’re grateful for this step forward and will continue sharing updates as they develop.

Every air quality monitor tells a story about the community around it.
By becoming an AirKeeper and hosting a monitor, you can help bring local air quality data to your neighborhood. To support your journey, we're launching a new course this July through the CleanAIRE Academy.
This new course is designed to help AirKeepers learn how to participate in the Community Science program, collect air quality data, and understand their findings.

A proposed change could eliminate vehicle emissions testing requirements in many North Carolina counties.
What could that mean for air quality across our state?
As policies evolve, it's important that North Carolinians have access to reliable information about the air they breathe and the factors that impact community health. While emissions testing requirements may change, the need for transparency, monitoring, and public awareness remains.

Climate change isn’t just an environmental issue, it’s a public health issue.
New research funded by Duke University is examining how extreme heat and air pollution impact mental health, chronic illness, and emergency response systems across North Carolina.
As heat waves intensify and air quality challenges continue, these studies help highlight the real health risks communities face every day, especially those already disproportionately impacted by pollution and climate change.
At CleanAIRE NC, we believe every North Carolinian deserves clean air, healthier communities, and climate solutions grounded in science and equity.
