Our Charlotte team wasn't the only one to get outside last month. Our Greenville office of employee-owners spent a lovely day focused on wellness and fellowship, taking a 3-mile walk at the Conestee Nature Preserve. They participated in a scavenger hunt along the trail, followed by breakfast at Eggs Up Grill. 👟🥞🍳

Our Greenville team returned to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas as Guest Chefs!

They cooked up and served sloppy joe cups, veggies with dip, fruit, broccoli salad, and a delicious lemon blueberry dump cake for dessert!

It’s an honor to support such a meaningful mission. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and made the night a success.

Last week our Charlotte team enjoyed a lovely 3-mile walk on Little Sugar Creek Greenway, followed by a well-deserved lunch from Another Food Truck.

It was a great chance to catch up outside of project meetings and get some miles in before heading back to the office. Huge thanks to North American Fire Protection for keeping us fueled!

Our fifth major project for Cheney Brothers, Inc. Headquarters is underway — raising the bar for modern food processing facilities.

We’re partnering on a 72,000+ sf, USDA-certified food processing facility in Pompano Beach that will house Grand Western Beef, with dedicated meat and poultry processing areas, five loading docks, a Cheney Express, and a fully equipped test kitchen.

When complete next year, the facility will expand capacity, integrate advanced processing technologies, and improve access to key Florida transportation routes.

In refrigerated food processing, design decisions directly impact food safety and product integrity. From hygiene zoning to material selection and building systems, every element is carefully coordinated to support clean, controlled movement from raw product to finished goods.

Built for South Florida conditions, the concrete structure is designed to withstand hurricane-force winds up to 170 mph. Features like a raised parapet at the dock wall help shield critical rooftop refrigeration systems while also contributing to the building’s overall form.

At the main entry, a 24-foot impact-rated glass curtain wall and refined detailing will highlight Cheney’s brand with their signature red and white accents.
