💜 Run for Something Bigger Than the Finish Line 💜
The South End Shuffle 5K & 1 Mile Run proudly supports the Purple Promise Foundation to End Melanoma, an organization dedicated to raising awareness, supporting research, and advancing the fight against melanoma.
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States, affecting more than one million Americans each year. Melanoma makes up a small percentage of cases but is the deadliest form of skin cancer.
That’s why this race matters.
Every runner, walker, sponsor, and volunteer helps support education, research, and prevention efforts so fewer families have to face this disease.
🏃 Run. Walk. Shuffle. Make an impact.

Last night, we were proud to join the Purple Promise Foundation to End Melanoma for their annual Light the Night Purple event 💜 In honor of May being Melanoma Awareness Month, we’re reminded how important it is to support organizations making a real impact through advancing research and spreading awareness about sun protection.
We’re honored to stand alongside such an incredible local organization making a difference in our community and beyond.

melanoma prevention happens in more than one way? This , it’s important to focus on both reducing your risk and catching melanoma early—when it’s most treatable.
Primary prevention is all about stopping melanoma before it starts:
• Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily
• Seek shade during peak UV hours
• Avoid tanning beds
• Wear UPF or protective clothing
Secondary prevention focuses on early detection:
• Perform monthly self-skin checks
• Schedule annual full-body exams with a dermatologist
• Keep an eye out for any new or changing spots
The campaign is a reminder that awareness is the first step toward prevention. Learn more: https://buff.ly/GW3Ei0u
