It’s tough to say goodbye to Trinity - and your Science Buddies.

First Day ⏩ Last Day
Nine years ago, they were sitting on the carpet in Mrs. Minor’s Kindergarten class - her final class of students before her retirement.
On their last day of 8th Grade, Mrs. Minor returned for one more trip to the Community Garden with her and their Science Buddies.
“I swear I’m laughing, I’m not crying.”
There was plenty of both in 8th Grade Chapel on the last day of school for the Class of 2026. For some of these Wildcats it was 9 years in the making.
Five lifer students shared what Trinity has meant to them, and what they will carry with them as they prepare for high school.
Next up: baccalaureate and commencement!

It was the last day of school for the tilapia who’ve called the Middle School aquaponics system home since October.
All year, the aquaponics system - a partnership with 100 Gardens - has given students hands-on lessons in water cycles and a sense of ownership of the program by being in charge of monitoring the tank’s water quality and feeding the fish. In return, the system has provided the Dickson Dining Hall with a bounty of lettuce.
8th Grade students today harvested the fish and helped Chef Brittany MacDonald prepare a special dish at lunch. Next school year, the aquaponics system will be stocked with a new supply of tilapia.

“If the world is going to be better, it’s going to be because of you all.”
That was one of the many comments of encouragement the 8th Grade received this month during their visit to Washington, D.C., logging tens of thousands of steps as they fanned out across the capital to advocate for topics ranging from microplastics in the environment to affordable housing.
In meetings inside congressional offices or gathered around meeting tables in hearing rooms, students met with lawmakers and their legislative aides, and with organizations dealing with their topics.
This trip wraps up the 8th Grade Social Issues Seminar class, in which they’ve studied community needs and the channels for affecting change at the local, state, and national levels.
We are proud of the leadership these Wildcats showed and the ways they used their voices to advocate!

8th Grade and staculty left it all on the court in their annual game, one of the last milestone traditions for 8th Grade students in their final weeks at Trinity.
When the buzzer sounded, staculty were on top, 43-30, to add one more year to their streak of victories.
