🧂 Watching your sodium? Look beyond the salt shaker!

Packaged, prepared, and restaurant foods can contain more sodium than you realize.

🩺 Doctor’s Order: Check the Nutrition Facts label and focus on your total sodium intake, not just individual ingredients.

If I could sit down with my 30- or 40-year-old self, there are a few things I’d tell her about getting older. 💚

After more than 20 years in medicine—and now experiencing aging from a very different perspective in my 50s—I’ve realized that healthy aging isn’t something we suddenly start thinking about at 60 or 70.

We’re building it right now.

The strength we build. The foods we eat. The rest we allow ourselves. The relationships we nurture. The way we continue challenging ourselves to grow—it all matters.

And maybe my favorite lesson of all? Getting older doesn’t mean your best years are behind you. There is no expiration date on becoming a better version of yourself. 🌱

🧘🏾‍♀️ “Black people don’t do yoga.” Really? Let’s talk about it.

For National Yoga Month, I wanted to share why yoga has become an important part of my longevity strategy.
I practice 3–4 times a week—not because I believe it’s a magic solution, but because I love how it makes me feel. The movement, strength, balance, breathing, and opportunity to slow down all have a place in how I choose to care for myself.

And yes, sometimes we’re doing it to old-school Hip-Hop & R&B. 😂

Wellness doesn’t have to look one particular way. Explore. Ask questions. Honor your beliefs. Find what works for YOU.

💬 Have you ever tried yoga? If not, what’s holding you back?
