💭 Ever stop and realize that sometimes... the thing holding you back might actually be you? If so, you are nor alone!

🌱 Belief is a powerful thing.

And when our beliefs are limiting, they can quietly stand in the way of our growth, not just as professionals, but as people.

I came across a powerful article from Harvard Business Review — “The Hidden Beliefs That Hold Leaders Back” by Muriel Wilkins — and wow, it hit home.

It reminded me that the toughest leadership work isn’t always about strategy or skill… it’s the inner work.

Here are a few truths that really stuck with me 👇🏽

✨ The biggest barriers aren’t always external — they’re internal.

It’s not always about the organization, the team, or the resources.

Sometimes, it’s about the quiet beliefs we’ve carried for years.

🧠 Seven beliefs that can secretly hold us back:

“I need to be involved.” → micromanagement.

“I need it done now.” → burnout.

“I know I’m right.” → shuts out collaboration.

“I can’t make a mistake.” → fear of growth.

“If I can do it, so can you.” → unrealistic expectations.

“I can’t say no.” → exhaustion and resentment.

“I don’t belong here.” → imposter syndrome.

Most of these started out as strengths. But without awareness, they can become barriers to effectiveness and peace.

💡 Real growth begins from the inside out.
Wilkins suggests three steps to transform limiting beliefs:

➡️ Uncover where you feel stuck.
➡️ Unpack where that belief came from.
➡️ Unblock it — reframe it into something empowering, then act on it.

Because change doesn’t start with doing more.
It starts with believing differently.

As I continue growing in leadership and in life, I’m reminded that mindset shapes everything.
The more I challenge my own beliefs, the more room I create for growth, grace, and greater impact.
