☀️ Summer is a great time to slow down, recharge, and take care of your mental well-being. 🌿

Sometimes, the simplest habits can have the biggest impact on our mental health. This summer, try adding a few of these wellness tips to your routine:

💙 Put your devices away and enjoy some screen-free moments
🌳 Get outside and enjoy movement in nature
💧 Remember to stay hydrated throughout the day

Small, intentional choices can help reduce stress, improve your mood, and create opportunities to connect with yourself and those around you.

For a safe, loved 4-year-old, a dysregulated nervous system just looks like 'bouncing off the walls.' A deep breath fixes it.

But for the teenagers and families we serve at The FACTS Initiative, a dysregulated nervous system is often the result of deep, complex trauma. It looks like anxiety, depression, shutting down, or crisis.

You cannot process trauma if you do not have the tools to regulate your body first. Emotional regulation is a life-saving skill, but it has to be taught, and not every child has access to a safe environment to learn it.

That is the gap we fill. We provide 100% free, trauma-focused mental health care to families in Charlotte so they can heal their nervous systems and reclaim their futures.

Mental Health Awareness Month is ending tonight, but our fight continues tomorrow. Hit the link in our bio to support our mission. 💙

🌿 Self-Care Tips for Kids & Families 🌿

Mental wellness starts with small, everyday habits. 💙 Here are a few simple ways to support emotional well-being at home, in the classroom, and throughout daily routines:

✨ Create calm learning routines
✨ Take brain and body breaks
✨ Talk about feelings often
✨ Limit negative self-talk
✨ Celebrate small wins

Small moments of support, encouragement, and connection can make a big difference over time. This Mental Health Awareness Month, we encourage families to check in with themselves and each other a little more intentionally. 🌱

Save this post for later and share it with a parent, caregiver, or educator who may need the reminder today.
