On Wednesday, January 20th 2021 history was made when President Joseph R. Biden, and Vice President Kamala Harris - the countries first Black, South-Asian woman to serve in the office - were sworn in. Amanda Gorman was at the center of that history.
At 22-years-old, Gorman became the first National Youth Poet Laureate to perform at inauguration. Her words were a call to action, a reminder of who we are and a roadmap to building an equitable and thriving nation where everyone is valued.
A large part of Gorman's development as a young poet was programming and support at the L.A. Public Library. Let this be a reminder that when we invest in public education services, like libraries, we are investing in so many students like Amanda Gorman.
Black talent is everywhere, Amanda Gorman's are all around us, we just have to water the garden and watch it grow.

On January 18, 2021, we honored the life and legacy of the great Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a radical organizer, orator, community leader, father, husband and advocate who called on all of us to create change in our communities. Let us be reminded yesterday, today and everyday, that we have a duty to name and address the systemic injustice, racism and oppression that is baked into the foundation of the United States of America - just as King did.
In order to create the effective, long-lasting change that MLK worked towards, everyone must make a daily commitment to fight for justice.

The official statement from our Founder and Chief JEDI Officer, Bryce J. Celotto, regarding the white supremecist violence and insurrection on January 6, 2021
A call to action for managers, executives and organizational leaders.
January 6, 2021: A Call To Action It is imperative for business leaders, managers and executives to understand that the white supremacist insurrection that occurred across the United States on January 6, 2021 was not a one-time event. White rage, white backlash and white violence have always been the celebrated norm in our country.

โง๏ธ TRANS AWARENESS WEEK โง๏ธ
Swarm Strategy recognizes Trans* awareness week, and Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR). TDOR is an annual day where we honor the memory of Trans and non-binary persons lost by acts of anti-trans violence.
2020 has been the deadliest year on record for the Trans community. In the United States we have lost 37 (known) transgender/gender non-conforming people to violence, and unfortunately that number is likely low due to underreporting and continued bias. There are many people whose names we still do not know, however we honor their memory, and their life as well.
Anti-trans violence is not just a problem here in the U.S., around the world we have lost over 300 Trans and non-binary persons to violence in 2020.
Today needs to be a day for mourning and reflection for everyone. At Swarm, we are a trans* led business and we dream of a day where TDOR is no longer about remembering the memory of our dead trans* siblings, but instead is a day where we celebrate and uplift the lives and accomplishments of transgender people - especially transgender women of color - who are most targeted for violence and discrimination in our society.
Read these names. Remember these names. Learn their stories.

Today we are profiling esteemed professor, political philosopher, former political prisoner and intersectional feminist icon Angela Davis.
