Hi Everyone! Tis the season! Normally Parallel Cultures team would be busy planning our 3rd Annual ! But as you can see, thanks to US Dept of Education’s Fulbright Scholar for GSU educators program, I’m busy in Brazil! This is in part for my efforts toward curriculum development for GSU students AND our K-6 kiddos! Which means This year Parallel Cultures is planning for even bigger activities through school year!! Your contributions will ensure that each of our kids receive special gifts from Bahia, Brazil; the heart of the African Diaspora AND that we continue efforts during fall semester! in Morven, NC is back!

We welcomed our 2022 cohort and new friends at Morven Elementary School. After reviewing some keywords from last summer’s program we hit the ground running

* Engaging with cultures of the African diaspora 🌍
* Designing our chef hats and aprons with our favorite foods 👨🏾‍🍳
* Reading “Stoney The Vegan: Pizza Night” 👩🏾‍🌾
* Preparing everyone’s favorite food, pizza— but vegan with author and chef 🍕
* Creating negative space paintings with Ryan 🎨
* And more!
