There's lots of good advice out there about planning in case something happens to you. One thing I come across a lot is a worksheet for people to write down their username and password for their online accounts...but here's why I don't recommend that:

👎It gets out of date quickly! It's unlikely that you'll be updating this sheet every time you have to change a password.
👎It gets lost, damaged, or destroyed (this happens more often than it being stolen, but that could happen too)

Clue # 5 that you're in for a whole heap of work as executor when a loved one dies: you have no idea if they have a financial advisor or estate attorney.

This could mean that they haven't done the work of end-of-life planning, or it could mean that they just don't want to tell you about it (because it's uncomfortable talking about death, or money, or both).

Either way, now's a great time to start those conversations to let your loved one that you're interested and you care about knowing their end-of-life plans!
