Happy Moosician Monday!!

Introducing (drumroll please)... Jay Brewer!

Jay is our fantastic lead guitarist who also plays the drums, french horn, piano, Tin whistles, and bass (along with being an incredible singer). He started off his musical career by singing with his dad (his dad played the banjo) and playing the flute and french horn in school. He later decided that playing the guitar would be cooler than the french horn (I disagree), so he learned that next.

Jay creates amazing experiences at Rapid7 (as the VP of Experience Design) AND at band practice - always cracking jokes and making us laugh (swipe for proof)! He was instrumental (pun intended) in organizing our performance at AMP and is an irreplacable part of the band.

Welcome back to Moosician Monday!!

We’d like you to meet Ross Nanopoulos, one of our superstar guitarists who also plays the bass and a microKORG (which is basically a piano/synth for those of you who didn’t know *cough cough Jen*) When Ross was in 5th grade, his friend’s brother was in a heavy metal band - so naturally, Ross and his friend created their own band. From there, Ross started to learn the bass and guitar and has been obsessed with Fall Out Boy ever since.
Ross brings his coding talents to our InfoSec team as a Lead Security Engineer at Rapid7, and we’re that he brings his musical talents to the Moosicians!!

Welcome to the first edition of “Moosician Monday” - we’ll be introducing a member of the band every monday over the next few weeks!

Joe Moran plays the guitar, bass, and trumpet for the Moosicians and moonlights (during the day) as a Senior Manager of User Experience at Rapid7.

He grew up in Birmingham, England - aka the birthplace of Duran Duran. He started playing the bass when he was 14 because he loves the role of the bass in music and he started composing electronic music with friends in high school.

He moved to Boston in 2001 for grad school and taught himself the guitar some time after that. Most recently, he learned the trumpet so he could get a proper education in reading music.

Joe loves the feeling of connection that music brings anywhere. He’s a bit of an introvert, so he loves being able to play music without being the center of attention.

Thanks for all of the many talents you bring to the band, Joe!! You rock!
