It's that time of year again! 🌸 Sakura, or “cherry blossom,” is the national flower of Japan and represents a time of renewal and optimism. 13 years ago, we opened our doors here in Charleston just in time to welcome guests at the start of the magical Cherry Blossom season.

Today we're celebrating 13 amazing years on King Street! Looking back on these last 13 years, we are feeling so lucky to have such an amazing, supportive community here in Charleston - we wouldn't be here without you! Meet Amelia! Amelia is a hostess and has been with O-Ku for over a year! She celebrated her one year anniversary with us in early January 🥳
Amelia's favorite roll is the Pl***oy Roll (a crowd favorite for sure!) and she loves the pork belly lettuce wraps 🥬 Amelia is a double major student at College of Charleston, studying both Psychology and Women's and Gender Studies 👩🎓
Amelia loves to spend her free time doing artwork 👩🎨 and her favorite quote is, "I'm here for a good time, not a long one!" When asked why she works in hospitality, Amelia said that she loves the experience of working with other people, and feels that it helps her hone her problem-solving skills.

From January 5 to January 20, 2023, O-Ku will pop-up at Mercantile and Mash at the Historic Cigar Factory while our restaurant undergoes a kitchen renovation and refresh.
Our O-Ku pop-up will be open for lunch and dinner, with to-go options also available. The special pop-up menu will feature most of our signature O-Ku cuisine along with specials and a dessert case featuring Japanese-influenced desserts from Indigo Road pastry chef Anne White.
