Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority (KRT) is a public transportation authority created in 1971 by Kanawha County and the City of Charleston. Four board members are appointed by the Kanawha County Commission, three are appointed by the City of Charleston, and there is one representative each from the towns of South Charleston, Nitro, St. Albans, Dunbar, Montgomery, and Belle. 🏃🏃The Freedom Fun Run 5k is coming up on June 27! Hosted by Jan Dils Attorneys at Law, this 5k raises funds so we can offer free bus passes to our Veterans through Operation Transportation.

What is Operation Transportation?

Made possible by Jan Dils Attorneys at Law, Operation Transportation is a special program dedicated to supporting Veterans by providing free public transportation. Participating is quick and easy! To obtain a free 31-Day Bus Pass, bring your military ID (DD-214) to KRT Headquarters or the City Center Station in Charleston and ask about the Operation Transportation program.

New Stop Alert ‼🚏

Route #1 St. Albans and South Charleston will stop at the new Kroger at Park Place beginning on June 24 when it opens to the public.

To make room for the new Kroger stop, the outbound stop in front of Truist will be removed from the route.

For 95 years, this uniquely West Virginia tradition has honored outstanding eighth-grade students for their knowledge of state history.

A few months ago, 5th graders from Alban Elementary visited KRT for Career Day and got a behind-the-scenes look at public transit.

Before they left, we sent their class back with KRT coloring sheets and asked them to come up with their own bus designs. We finally got to see the finished drawings, and they were too good not to share. 🎨🚌
