Going back a LONG way for this !

Touching stones on what would have been an ancient sea floor several hundred million years ago. These stones are resting on a sandy beach (!) but are also embedded in the rocks themselves at Panama Scenic Park in Chautauqua County, New York. I've always had a stronger sense of the ancient when hiking in Appalachia compared with other places. Being in this northern borderland of the region reinforced those feelings.
