Back To Wellness
January 6th '22 I came down with Covid. I was already dealing with Diabetes and had lost most all of my hair. This is my journey back to wellness.
Covid added many complications that landed me in the hospital 4x's. Maybe it will help you too!

Juice, juice, juice! Many years ago I bought a Jack Lalaine juicer and something happened to it, like it was left with my x-husband. Then about 7 years ago I found another one just like it in fb market place for $25.00. I used it a few times and that was that. It has sat collecting dust and, I was going to pass it onto my daughter in law. So glad I didn't, because I am juicing to get my lymphatic system to move some fluids around. Parsley, celery, ginger, Cucumber and some apple...it's so good. Be sure to add the apple, I use just a half. I also love eating raw celery dipped in ranch dressing for snack time. Yes, I know I have to start making my own ranch dressing. That is coming soon.

Lordy, it is hard gettin' this ole southern gal to switch from white rice to whole grain brown rice. But I am going to do it. A dear friend told me of how she will cook up a big batch of brown rice and measure out 1 serving size into little freezer bags. That way, when she needs some brown rice for her meal, she just takes a bag and pops it in the microwave. My batch of brown rice is cooking up now. But the following is just some of the benefits to whole grain brown rice:
-Eating brown rice daily is generally healthy, providing fiber and nutrients that support heart health, digestive health, and blood sugar control while potentially aiding in weight management and reducing risks of type 2 diabetes and certain cancers. However, it's crucial to eat a varied diet to get a full range of nutrients and be mindful of potential issues like arsenic exposure from rice and digestive upset (like bloating or diarrhea) from its high fiber content, especially for those unaccustomed to it.
Also, here are the issues with white rice:
white rice is also high in refined carbohydrates, which can raise blood sugar levels. Additionally, it lacks fiber and other essential nutrients found in whole grains. Therefore, consuming white rice in moderation and pairing it with other nutrient-rich foods is recommended for optimal health.
