Compass Harbor's mission is to help youth transition from foster care to adult life by providing affordable housing options and educational opportunities that will give them the skills to excel in the adult world. About Us
How It All Started
Compass Harbor Housing Solutions was created when it became clear that the need for housing is great among youth that are transitioning from Foster Care to adult life. They are the most vulnerable to becoming homeless because they lack the support of a family and are not often equipped with the skills they need to become independent. Another important component to our mission is the life skills program residents will take advantage of while in residence. Volunteers mentor them on everything from interviewing skills to cooking. With these skills, they will be more successful as they secure their own housing and independence.
